  1. What is the National African American Gun Association (NAAGA)?

    • The National African American Gun Association is a non-profit organization that aims to promote responsible gun ownership and training among African Americans. It was founded in 2015 and has grown to over 75 chapters across the United States.

  2. What are the goals of NAAGA?

    • The goals of NAAGA are to increase the number of African Americans who own firearms for self-defense, to provide education and training on gun safety and responsible gun ownership, and to promote a positive image of African American gun owners.

  3. How does someone become a member of NAAGA?

    • To become a member of NAAGA, you can visit their website and fill out the membership application form. There is an annual membership fee that varies depending on the level of membership you choose.

  4. Does NAAGA support gun control laws?

    • NAAGA supports responsible gun ownership and training, but does not support gun control laws that infringe on the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.

  5. What types of events does NAAGA host?

    •  NAAGA hosts a variety of events, including firearms training classes, range days, community outreach events, and networking opportunities for its members. They also hold an annual conference that brings together members from across the country to share ideas and learn from industry experts.

  6. Where is the North Texas Chapter located?  

    • We cover the entire Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and our chapter meetings are currently virtual twice a month online.

  7. What gun ranges do the North Texas Chapter meet for range days?

    • The club meet at various ranges in the DFW metroplex, typically north of downtown Dallas.​

  8. Are the ranges vetted that are used for ranged days?

    • The ranges that are used by the North Texas chapter have been vetted by our training team ​and they are considered safe and welcoming to African Americans.

  9. Do I have to be part of NAAGA National to be a member of the North Texas Chapter?

    • Yes, you have to become a member of National first, before becoming a member of a local chapter

  10. Do I need to already have a gun to become a member?

    • No.  We will assist you in determining the proper gun that is right for you, if you don't already have one.​

  11. What firearm skill level do I need to have to be able to join?

    • We have members with different levels of experience.  Those who have never shot a gun up to seasoned military veterans.
